I suppose it has been somewhat modernized over the years but in terms of stores. The original Penn Station was built in 1910, Demolished in 1963 then in 1964 it moved to its current location. Needless to say the subways and railways have loads of problems including derailments, delays, a large homeless population, non-working signals and switches, etc… Given the Domestic Terrorism situation the station is filled with Armed Police, State Troopers and sometimes U.S. Army soldiers. Over the years the fares have gone up while the service has gone down. It is a wonder New Yorkers get to their destination at all. I will be happy to retire next year so I can avoid coming into the City as much as possible.
Your photos often remind me of the one week we once spent a holiday in New York. We loved every minuted of it.
Glad you and Mr. Swiss enjoyed the Big Apple. ♡☆
That looks a very modern station.
