This weekend Stephen and I enjoyed having breakfast at The Daily Press located across the street from me in Brownsville, Brooklyn. I am a big fan of their blueberry muffins.

This seemed rather odd, weird and somewhat funny at first but it is rather insulting to Women Astronauts like Sally Ride and Mae Jemison. Depictions like this are what keep Women trapped within stereotypes. Why is the woman in the ad perfectly coiffed and manicured like she just came out of a Beauty Salon? I found these ads located in a store on the Upper East Side along Madison Avenue to be a bit disturbing!! Seems like a Woman’s appearance is more important that her abilities. This being Women’s History Month we must correct these misconceptions!!
