Service Sunday

Today marks 100 years since the End of World War I. In the United States today is Veterans Day for the rest of the world I believe it’s called Remembrance Day.

For whatever you call it in your country today in fact this entire weekend including tomorrow Monday is the time we Honor our Veterans and especially remember those who died during World War I.

My Dad Edward Palmer served during the Korean War. He passed away in 1995 at age 65.

I was in the United States Army from November 1977 to November 1981. Did my Basic training and AIT at Ft. Jackson, SC. My first assignment was to the 569th Personnel Service Company in Augsburg, Germany. Then my next and final assignment station was the 101st Airborne Division aka The Screaming Eagles.

Uniform

I wear a uniform in my current job as a Museum Security Guard but just like I cannot ever mention the name of my museum workplace Nor am I allowed to post photos of me in my museum uniform.  However my time in the military prepared me to deal with many of the nastier members of the general public.

BTW I was Chairborne not Airborne. Women were not allowed in combat in those days. Also some of these Cadences are a little risque. If you are overly sensitive don’t listen.
