Folk Art Meets Abstract Expressionism

Some of my artistic inspiration comes from the Artist Mark Rothko coupled with the world of Alice in Wonderland.  Of course as a novice painter I’m still finding my style as well as the technique most suitable for me.

These photos were taken last Saturday, April 14th on an exceptionally Sunny warm wonderful day!

Artworks in Progress

Here are some collages that I’m working on at the moment.  These might be more abstract surrealist paintings than collages but I will still incorporate some picture/photo elements into each.
Right now they are unfinished but I’m not in any hurry.  It is just a pleasure and a great deal of fun to work on them.  Not really work at all but a creative and enjoyable activity that is relaxing and fun.  Very therapeutic.

Artworks in Progress

Here are two collages that I’m working on at the moment.  These might be more abstract surrealist paintings than collages but I will still incorporate some picture/photo elements into each.

Allows plenty of room to experiment and just try different painting hacks.  Makes me happy to have something in the pipeline.  Another way to express my creativity by combining two hobbies that I Love; photography and collages.

Cash Coin and Carry

Dream Walkers

DreamScape Kaleidoscope

This one is 98% finished.  I might add a few more elements.  If something else is needed the artwork will tell me.

Sunny Day at Court Square in Brooklyn

Sunny Day at Court Square in Brooklyn

Near the A & C train Jay Street Metro Tech subway station. Even closer are the 4, 5, 2, 3 and R subway trains Borough Hall Station.

Temps once again in the upper 70s.  Great Day to take and absorb some Vitamin D.

Major courthouses, Farmers Market, plenty of green space areas for fun, games, and exercise.  Of course lots of shops and stores for dedicated shoppers and those just browsing for bargains. Brooklyn Law School, Municipal Building.  One of the Larger major Brooklyn Post Offices where you can also get your Passport.

Memorial dedicated to World War II soldiers.  Almost made it to the Brooklyn Bridge but I got called away.  In some photos you can see the Brooklyn Bridge off in the distance.

Took a few photos of the Henry Ward Beecher statue. He was a famous Abolitionist.  Here is more information on Henry Ward Beecher from Wikipedia.

Henry Ward Beecher

American clergyman and activist

Henry Ward Beecher was an American Congregationalist clergyman, social reformer, and speaker, known for his support of the abolition of slavery, his emphasis on God’s love, and his 1875 adultery trial. en.wikipedia.org

Today Spring finally made an appearance in New York City.  The Temps went up to a balmy 74 Degrees Fahrenheit!  Great day for a stroll along Broadway in Brooklyn with a snack stop at Little Skips East Coffee Shop for a snack.  I plan to bring some of my artwork to Little Skips East who may feature my collages within the Coffee Shop!  Hooray!

One of the best things that I Love about living in Brooklyn are all the street murals.  Amazing artwork to be seen and enjoyed adorning walls and sides of buildings!  Incredible!

Here are some photos that I took to Celebrate this warm lovely Spring day!
