African American Art and Artists
I am not yet in the same league as these amazing incredible outstanding Black Artists but I aspire to excellence. I’m on my way!
Here are some paintings that I’m currently working on.
Mostly acrylic but today I used some oil paints.
Explorations in Abstract Art

Discovered the Black Artists YouTube channel. Samella Lewis is now another one of my many Black Artists that I look up to and aspire to their creative content.
These are incredible! DeB, I so encourage you in your creative expression. I am truly touched and honored that you share your work for #ForgivingFridays – and the artists who inspire you! That inspires me and my fellow bloggers too. 🙂 I love you, and keep going! Blessings, Debbie
Thanks. Enjoy your week and weekend. Love you too! 😍😎😀😄❤💓💕💖💝💞💟💜

I love your artwork these pieces reminds me of freedom for some reason. Looking at them bring a feeling of serenity. Does that sound crazy? Thanks for introducing us to Samella Lewis 🙂 ❤ ❤
Thanks. You’re welcome. I must say that YouTube has videos on everything from art instruction to how to sell your artworks. There’s an entire YouTube channel devoted to Black Artists from across the diaspora.
I think that it’s called the Black Arts network. This channel enables me to learn about established Black Artists as well as up and coming ones. Lots of ideas on techniques. Excellent!
I have to pass this info on to my daughter. She paints as a hobby but I think she would enjoy these videos.
Yes I’m sure she will.
I also find creating artwork to be therapeutic.
Abstract Art is more about feelings and emotions.
My drawing and illustration skills are not good but with art using colors, light, dark and shadow one can enter into New realms.
